Who are we?

Callan Online Limited is a company registered in the UK (number 07886867). Our registered office is 705 The Chandlery, 50 Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7QY. We are part of Callan Method Group Ltd (www.callanmethodgroup.com). We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office and we are compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data do we collect and why?

The Callan App gathers the information about its performance. We use this information to detect bugs, fix them and improve your user experience. Some of that information might be shared with Firebase mobile and web application development platform. We only send information about the bugs, that information does not contain your personal data.

We collect and store the information you provide to us when you sign up through our website or give us personal information through other means such as social media, email or by telephone.

This information is at a minimum your email address. Further information may include your name, contact details, country of residence, time zone, Skype name or other social media or video conferencing identity.

If you become a Callan Online student, we also record details of the lessons you take including dates and times of lessons, the work covered and comments from you or your tutors on the lessons. Your lessons may occasionally be recorded for quality control purposes. The recorded audio and video will be stored for no longer than 6 months, available only for internal use and never published without your express written consent.

If you contact our customer support team, we may also retain copies of any email or other correspondence.

We use this information for:

  • Supplying you with products and services, responding to your enquiries and other normal business transactions
  • Informing you about our products and services
  • Informing you about our marketing initiatives, for example discounts and promotions.
Who else has access to your data?

When you make a purchase through our online shop your name, address, email address and the contents of the shopping basket are passed to the payment gateway provider you select. Currently this is PayPal whose privacy policy is at https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full. PayPal uses your data to process the payment of your orders. Callan Online does not store customers credit or debit card information.

We store names, email addresses and country information remotely in our password-protected account at our email mailing service, Campaign Monitor, whose privacy policy is at https://www.campaignmonitor.com/policies/#privacy-policy.

We may share your data within the Callan Method Group of companies for accounting or corporate governance purposes. (www.callanmethodgroup.com) From time to time we may share your data with professional advisers such as lawyers or consultants in order to get assistance in the conduct of our business. We do our best to ensure that all such third parties treat the data we share with them in strict confidence and with professional integrity.

Where is your data stored?

If you create an account with us then we will use cookies for the management of the signup process and general administration. These cookies will usually be deleted when you log out however in some cases they may remain afterwards to remember your site preferences when logged out.

How to view your data or ask for it to be removed

On your request we will provide you with a copy of all the data we hold that is connected with your name and/or your email address. If you want us to stop using your data for one or more of the purposes described above, please let us know. If you want us to delete some or all of your data, please let us know and we will help as much as possible. However, please be aware that by removing your data it may not then be possible for us to continue to provide you with services. Furthermore, the UK tax authorities require us to hold some data for six years. We will also need to keep some records in case a dispute should arise in future.
